CIRAD is the French Centre for International Cooperation in Agronomic Research for Development. In Vietnam, CIRAD’s collaborative research has focused for the last 10 years on three thematic priorities: i) livestock; ii) markets-agriculture linkages, and iii) agroecology.

Rural Development Center (RUDEC) was founded in 2006 as a centre under the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development (IPSARD).

UMR Métafort is a Joint Research Unit. Métafort stands for “Changes in Activities, Space and Forms of Organisation in Rural Areas”.

The National Institute of Animal Sciences (NIAS) was established in 1952 under the Ministry of Agriculture with a mandate for national research in animal science, including breeding, feeding regimes, and livestock economics, with environment and farming systems research.
 

The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) is part of the Consultative Group for International Agronomic Research (CGIAR).

CASRAD (Center for Agrarian Systems Research and Development) was established in 2006 as a centre under the Field Crops Research Institute and Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS).

The Centre Norbert Elias (CNH) is a mix research Unit of CNRS (UMR 8562), which is pluridisciplinaire in nature (anthropologie, communication, history, sociology).
